Back to training with a negative medical report: Joaquín, three weeks’ off

Málaga CF, after a day off yesterday, got back to work this morning in the Ciudad de Málaga stadium. It was session in which they alternated between physical and ball work, and in which the Club’s Sporting Director, Antonio Fernández, was present.

Looking at the names, goalies Willy and Rubén began the session with the goalkeeping coach, Xabi Mancisidor.  The good news came from the Portuguese players, Eliseu and Edingho, who rejoined the group completely normally.  In terms of the absences, Buonanotte was away with the Club’s permission and Juami is training with Spain’s Under 19s.  On an injuries level, Gámez and Baptista underwent some more treatments, whilst Apoño is out with gastroenteritis.  Joaquín, the Cádiz-born player, is also amongst the absences after medical results confirmed a grade 1-2 lesion on his right quadriceps, meaning he will be on the bench for three weeks.

Those players who played in Santander had a lighter workload than the rest of their teammates this morning.  Meanwhile, the physically unfit Weligton did some workouts with the auxiliary coach, Enrique Ruiz; and Van Nistelrooy remained in the gym.

Tomorrow, Thursday, Málaga will have two training session – the first at 10 a.m in the Ciudad de Málaga stadium, and the second at 5 p.m in La Rosaleda.
