First team
Catanha, Dely Valdés, Edgar, Fernando... and Juanmi

The young Málaga forward, Juanmi Jiménez, who’s on a goal scoring roll, was the star of last weekend’s Osasuna match at La Rosaleda as he scored Málaga CF’s 500th goal in the First Division.

The Coín-born striker who plays for Spain in the younger categories, has become seasoned specialist in beating records since his jump into professional football.  Indeed, he is the youngest ever goal scorer for Málaga, and the youngest double goal scorer in the BBVA League.  Last Tuesday, in the Copa against Getafe, Juanmi secured a goal in the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, but he was just 16 when he scored his first wearing a Blue and Whites’ shirt in the 2009/10 season.

Always with this eye on a goal in all the team he’s played for in La Academia, where he has grown as a player and also as a person, Juanmi’s ambition and hunger to win is now becoming a reality.  Mischief, clarity, speed and, above all a four letter word – goal – defines Málaga’s number ‘26’.
