Joaquín: “Valencia are a tough obstacle, but we must only think about playing our game”
Málaga Cliub de Futbol’s Joaquín Sánchez spoke to the media this morning, Friday 16th December, in the Ciudad de Málaga press room.
Joaquín’s statements
(Personal). “I’m feeling 100 per cent and the only thing I could be missing are minutes and matches.”
(Valencia). "It’s a match to capture some points and say goodbye to the year with a good taste in our mouths. We must only think about ourselves and be aware of what we can do and play a rounded game. It’ll not be easy, they’re a complicated rival and it’s a difficult pitch. When we play away it’s sometimes more difficult for us in some match and other times we take them on seriously and with maturity. On Sunday, we’ve got to bring this seriousness against a tough rival and we can’t throw away any opportunity.”
“Soldado is a standout player but there are also other players with experience. It’s a well put together team, established years ago.”
(Emery). “It’s a man who’s always thinking about and looking out for football, he’s only ever thinking about improving.”
(Return to Valencia). “It was five years there, and the memories are still recent, friends, stories from the changing room, and loads of feelings. My return to Mestalla with Málaga is with mixed feelings, but when the game starts, we’ll be looking for the three points as always.”
“I don’t really worry about the welcome, but I hope to well-received, they may even clap and cheer me.”
(Signing forMálaga). “I like change. I did what I thought best for me, it’s been successful and important. The excitement here is unique and it’s an important challenge.”
(David Villa). “I’ve not been able to speak to him but he must be alright and I wish him as speedy a recovery as possible.”
