“I haven’t set a target to return, I don’t want to, as my first aim is to recover properly, be content and look forward to coming back,” affirms the player who is in full recovery process.
Camacho is continuing with his pre-season training in order to re-join his teammates as soon as possible: “It’s been a strange summer, as at the beginning of the pre-season I had to undergo another operation. I think it was the right decision, and I’m quite pleased as I’ve had a relaxed recovery. The objective is for me to recover completely, little by little, and begin what is a very long season feeling as well as possible.”
His recovery is on the right track and the midfielder is undergoing “all types of strength training, both upper and lower body. I’m also focusing on my own mini pre-season and now the last phase is yet to come.”
In the meantime, Camacho is watching his teammates from the side lines during the start of the League competition: “I’ve seen the team come up against some very important rivals. I think we were the superior side against Sevilla and we also had our options against Barcelona. We played a complete game although we didn’t come back with any points.”
There have been numerous implications surrounding the player, who is now in his sixth year with Málaga: “I’m very happy here, there are a lot of rumours going around and the truth is I’m staying here. It’s a new season, new players, so it’s a challenge for me. I’m very attached to the Club, the people, and we have a lot of challenges ahead so I think it’s going to be a great year.”
A year in which we’ll have to wait and see Camacho step on to the pitch: “I’d like to have a set date when I know I’ll be back to 100% fitness. This depends a great deal on how your body feels and to ensure that when you do return to action, you don’t have to stop again. My return is near but I don’t want to rush.”
