Bustinza: “Not giving up helps us continue to grow”

The Málaga CF player spoke to MCFTV after #RealZaragozaMálaga. “The least we can give the people is to not give up, keep insisting, come together in the face of adversity and be an even more cohesive group,” he said.

Unai Bustinza, Malaguista right-back last night at La Romareda, appeared in the mixed zone following #RealZaragozaMálaga.

Firstly, he stressed that “the team knew how to suffer together, and I saw the people enjoying themselves,” in a scenario of numerical inferiority for almost the whole game. “When you're good, powerful and able to contain, the rival needs to do a lot of things to generate chances, that gives you strength and makes a group,” he added.

The Blue and White defender recognised the great performance of Yáñez, the protagonist in Zaragoza: “Rubén played a great game, he kept us alive. You saw him in the goal, and he gave you peace of mind.”

Bustinza is clear that you have to give your all on an individual level to help the team: “The best version of each player must be offered to the group and that strengthens the team, it will contribute a great deal.”

The number '4' highlighted the change of mentality in the face of adverse situations: “We have received hard blows and been unable to turn it around. We know where we are, we’re Málaga, a historic and highly demanding team. The least we can give the people is what we’ve seen today; to not give up, keep insisting, come together in the face of adversity and be an even more cohesive group. From here on in we’ll continue to grow, as we need to win the three points each time,” he concluded.
