The skating prodigy, who is currently in Málaga promoting his next show in the city, visited the Blue and Whites’ first team and challenged Roberto to a fun-filled penalty shoot-out.

The double world champion, six-time European champion and Olympic bronze medallist in figure skating, Javier Fernández, returns to the Costa del Sol. A month after his visit to La Rosaleda stadium, the skater visited the Malaguista first team in training (Ciudad de Málaga stadium) to promote his show in the capital.

Málaga CF goalkeeper, Roberto greeted Javier Fernández on the pitch at the Ciudad de Málaga. They posed for the media and spoke to journalists in attendance, but the best was yet to come.

The Blue and Whites’ keeper and the figure skating star challenged each other to an entertaining penalty shoot-out. Champion, Fernández even dared to take a penalty whilst performing an acrobatic pirouette.

Statements to MCFTV

“We’re in Málaga to continue promoting the show we’re putting on in November. We also wanted to look at the facilities and see how we’re going to organise everything”, says Fernández, who also sends a message to the Málaga fans: “There are always difficult times during the season, just as I’ve had in certain competitions. The important thing is that the fans continue to support the team and really encourage the players”, he says.

Meanwhile, Roberto was full of praise for Javier: “It’s an honour to have Javier here showing us his support, so we can absorb all the energy that a champion like himself conveys”.
