Bernardi and Coco, two legends for life

The two iconic Club Deportivo Málaga players received their lifetime season tickets this afternoon at La Rosaleda, as is traditional.

This emotional, simple event organised by the MCF Foundation, with Lucas Rodríguez, Basti and Domingo Muñoz at the helm, was attended by the president and vice president of the Malaguista veterans, Manolo Hernández Navarrete and Raúl Iznata, as well as judicial administrator José María Muñoz and sporting director, Manolo Gaspar.

Bernardo Narváez González ‘Bernardi’ (87 years old) and Diego Rodríguez Sánchez ‘Coco’ (83) are the two players still alive from the Malaguista expedition that suffered the plane crash in Tenerife on 29 September 1956.

The presentation of the lifetime season tickets came about in 1981 under the presidency of Antonio Pérez-Gascón, on the 25th anniversary of the accident. For many years, both CD Málaga and Málaga CF have given each player a season ticket. In 2021 we are missing Gonzalo Borredá, who passed away in May 2020, and who was also a survivor of that plane crash.

Memory, Commitment and Faith, a claim of the Club that, through the Foundation, values two Malaguista legends who contributed to making Málaga even bigger.
