“We were up against a reserve team today, who we know are a tough opponent and technically good. At half-time we were 1-0 up and corrected not focusing play so much in the centre. With the substitutions and seeking the rival’s weak spots, it made for an attractive match. We were the team that we’ve been recently, with good gameplay and piling the pressure on the rival”, said Ayala after the 4-0 victory at home against Santa Teresa 'B'.
Andrea replaced María Arrabal in goal. “We demand competitiveness in each position, also in goal. Whoever goes out will do very well, we demand great concentration with the defence, correcting and participating a lot with our feet,” said the coach.
Finally, Ayala talked about a strong defence being key to winning matches: “It’s all about teamwork. A good defence starts upfront, which is what we’re seeing. We want the rivals to approach our goal as little as possible, and the pressure is allowing us to regain possession as far up the pitch as we can. The team feels very comfortable in this situation.”
