ATMalagueño| upfront

The Malaguista reserve squad is one of the highest-scoring Third Division sides, with 111 goals currently in their favour.

Atlético Malagueño’s upfront attack is one of the most successful in the entire Third Division. With over a hundred goals (107), the Blue and Whites’ reserve team has maintained an average of three goals per game in the regular phase of the competition.

The lethal attacking display of Manel Ruano’s Malaguista reserve team has seen them surpass, for two consecutive years, their goal-scoring record. As it stands the team has scored 111 goals (107 in the regular league, and 4 in the promotion play-offs).

Kuki Zalazar celebrates his third season at the forefront of Malagueño. With 14 goals to his credit, he’s a clear benchmark on the Malaguista reserve team’s attack. The player, although of a young age, has won the Copa de Campeones, and is a regular in first team training sessions.

Davis Muñoz and Santi can also add to their CV’s the Spanish juvenil championship title. Muñoz stands out for his mobility and change of pace, whilst Santi is a more creative and unpredictable player.

The absences of Nané and En-Nesyri - the former suffering with serious injury, and the latter due to his continual call-ups to the first team – forced the sports management within the youth ranks to reinforce the reserve team last winter. Adrián Wójcik arrived to Ruano’s team in mid-November from CD Alhaurino, with eight goals to his credit. As a Malaguista he’s scored another 18, making him the ‘pichichi’ of Third Division Group IX with 26 goals.

Jack Harper was the last to arrive. The versatile striker landed in Málaga in January from English outfit, Brighton & Hove Albion, and has accumulated 13 goals within his personal record. An international with Scotland’s youth ranks, Harper integrated perfectly within Ruano’s scheme from the outset.
