Salva Ballesta’s boys are up against OFK Belgrade on Monday 21st at 2 p.m. (Spanish time) and Benfica on Wednesday 23rd at 3 p.m. (Spanish time). The other group is made up of host team, Dynamo Moscow, along with Paok Salonika and CSKA. The winners of each group will compete in Thursday’s grand final.
Atlético Malagueño’s pre-season got underway last Monday, with over 30 players under the instruction of Salva Ballesta. The team has had double training sessions at El Viso sports centre, in preparation for the start of Third Division Group 9 competition.
New players and exits
Returning to the Blue and Whites following loan periods last season are Iván Márquez (UD San Pedro), Cala (CF Fuenlabrada), Juanjo Serrano (Lleida Esportiu), Ernesto Gómez (San Fernando) and Jesús Godino (26 de Febrero). Diego is also returning from CD El Palo.
From the Copa de Campeones and Copa del Rey semi-finalists, the ‘Juvenil División de Honor’ side, the following players are taking part in pre-season training with the ‘Malaguista’ reserve team: Pol Ballesté, Aarón, Cristian, Calero, Deco, José Luis, Dani, Ismael, Pedro, Pablo, Mula, Zalea, Pirulo and Joseíto. Also joining them are: Óscar Herrera, David Ramos and Ontiveros, who all competed in the ‘Juvenil de Liga Nacional’ last season.
Leaving the Blue and Whites’ reserve team are goalkeepers: Toni Casamayor (Marbella FC) and Sergio Ríos; defenders: Cris Tissone and Mosquera (Real Betis B); and midfielders: Marrufo, Vela, Arthur, Pablo Ganet and Joel Valencia (returning to Real Zaragoza after loan period).
Six footballers from La Academia are in training with the first team: Rafa de Vicente, Samu Castillejo, Juanpi Añor, Ernesto Cornejo, Kuki Zalazar and Agustín Cousillas.
