The Blue and Whites’ reserve team returns to League competition this Saturday (20.45) against Ciudad Torredonjimeno.
A revitalised Atlético Malagueño kicks off their League competition this weekend in Third Division Group IX. With Manel Ruano at the helm, and a young yet experienced squad, the Malaguista reserve team is starting an exciting season.
The MCF Academy senior squad returns after achieving some brilliant numbers last season. The reserve team beat its own goal-scoring record, with 107 goals netted and 34 conceded, and in addition, proved to be intractable at home. Out of the 19 matches held at the Federación Malagueña, the Blue and Whites won 18 times and drew just once. They remained undefeated, including in the Second Division B promotion play-offs, when they won three games.
Malagueño’s debut will take place on Saturday (20:45) away against Ciudad Torredonjimeno. The lads hope to get off to a good start in the Third Division Group IX League competition, but above all, hope to continue providing players for the first team when needed, like last season with Ontiveros, En-Nesyri and Luis Muñoz.
Up to now, Mula, José Carlos, Maty, Ian Soler, David Ramos, Alberto López, Iván Rodríguez, Deco and Álex Robles have all played minutes with Míchel’s squad during the pre-season.
