Míchel: “We’re prepared so as not to make excuses”

The Málaga CF coach speaks to the media in the run-up to #MálagaEibar: “The team has worked well enough, and is armed to start with good results”.

Ready

“I think we’re prepared so as not to make excuses. In the First Division, every team can place you in difficulties, particularly Eibar, hence we are fully prepared, no excuses. We believe the team has worked well enough, and is sufficiently armed to start with good results”.

Available players

“We’ve got 17 pitch players and three goalkeepers, and tomorrow we’ll make the decision. We’ll have to leave one out. In addition, Ontiveros has been incorporated into normal training this week. In that sense, there are enough people. One must be ruled out. Ricca is staring to train again, and I think he’ll be back with the group shortly. There are enough players to complete the line-up”.

SD Eibar

“Eibar is a recognised and recognisable team. They’ve been working in the same way for three seasons, with a coach of incredible sensibility, who always brings out a magnificent performance from his teams. When you play against a team such as Eibar, honest and dignified, it means the skills the players have will take them to the end, and these are the dangers and virtues of a team that is uncomfortable for anyone”.

League calendar

“I don’t like us being treated in this way. The first two Monday games we’re playing at home are at 22:00. They could have shown a little more sensitivity to our fans. Furthermore, it coincides that we’re playing on Monday, and then have less time to rest as we’re then in action on Saturday. In that case, there has been little sensitivity towards us, but that’s also not an excuse. Tomorrow we’ll see a tremendously interesting game, as we want to show our people what we’re capable of and ready for”.

Fans

“I’m very grateful to our fans, and the number of people who have renewed their season tickets. It’s been an irregular summer of pre-season results, but it’s been an absolutely positive summer in regard to people’s’ confidence. As such, when you have that level of confidence, it doesn’t matter if you play on Mondays or Tuesdays, although I’d rather play on Saturdays and Sundays”.
