Málaga CF Femenino’s first promotion playoff clash was marked by many emotional moments. As well as the victory, the Municipal de Cártama saw it’s second capacity crowd – the first was in the regular league game against Granada CF – and the box hosted a very special visit from the Atlético Málaga players.
The triple champion team (Liga, Copa de la Reina and Supercopa) was represented by Estrella Díaz, Libertad García ‘Libi’, Gloria Florido, Natalia Gutiérrez ‘Nati’ and Ana María Pérez. The footballers were accompanied in the stands by CEO of the Málaga CF Academy, Hamyan Al-Thani, and Club advisers, Francisco Martín Aguilar and Abdallah Ben Barek.
The players were part of Málaga CF Femenino’s first victory in the promotion playoffs. The win for the Malaguista squad coincides with the week that Atlético Málaga celebrates its 20th anniversary since winning the league title, which was the starting point in winning the triple.
