Atlético Malagueño defeated Atarfe Industrial CF by five goals to one this Wednesday afternoon. The game, corresponding to matchday 24 of Third Division Group IX, was held at the Federación Malagueña football ground.
The Blue and Whites’ squad dominated without much difficulty in the first half, and the locals quickly got on the scoreboard. Nané put the Malaguistas in front four minutes into play; the number ‘9’ made a pacey exit from his defender to outwit the goalkeeper with a low shot at the near post (1-0).
With the rhythm of play completely under control, Manel Ruano’s boys doubled their advantage with a spectacular goal from David Ramos in 23’ (2-0). The midfielder propelled the ball from the edge of the area with a tight shot, against which the rival keeper could do little. At half-time the locals had a 2-0 lead.
In the second half, the visitors sought out the Malaguista area, and managed to narrow the gap with a goal from Haya in minute 48 (2-1). However, the home side resumed the pulse of the match and returned to dominate the ball.
As the second half progressed, in 79’, a toxic ball in the heart of Atarfe’s area became entangled with the rival keeper. An unfortunate clearance attempt from defender, Fernando resulted in the third Malaguista goal (3-1).
The fourth and fifth goals arrived in the final stretch of play. First Harper (4-1, 85’), followed by Abeledo (5-1, 89’) secured the final result, which gives Malagueño 57 points in the table (1st place).
