Another victory for Forever team in Andalucía

For another year, the fourth in a row, the team of the Association of Ex Málaga Football Players was crowned Andalusian champion in the veterans’ Liga FEAFV.

The municipality of La Roda de Andalucía in Sevilla was witness yesterday to an exciting tournament that ended in triumph for the Blue and Whites. The Málaga CF Forever team, full of well-known names such as Calatayud, Manolo Gaspar, Gerardo García León, Catanha and ‘Kiki’ Musampa, the latter being the top scorer (bottom image) of the final phase of the FEAFV -Zona Sur- with eight goals, imposed their quality at Andalusian level for the fourth year running.

In the first phase Málaga achieved big wins against Xerez (4-0) and El Ejido (3-0), going on to defeat Real Balompédica Linense (4-1) in the semi-finals, and in the final, Cultural (3-1). As such, the Forever lads have won their pass to the FEAFV national final, taking place on 25th May in Oliva (Valencia). The Blue and Whites are the current champions of Spain.

The charity event raised funds for two social groups in La Roda de Andalucía (ADIRA and Lucha contra el Cáncer de La Roda). The Town Hall and the Blue and Whites’ veterans’ association organised the tournament, sponsored by Málaga CF, Diputación Provincial de Málaga and Obra Social ‘la Caixa’, as well as a number of local businesses.
