Adriana: “Behind every one of my goals there is great teamwork”

The Málaga CF Femenino captain analyses how the team will face the final part of the season: “There are still many matches remaining, difficult games. At home we need to win everything”.

Match evaluation

“Generally speaking, we got better as the match progressed. We started off well with an early goal, which boosted our confidence, although the rival was good, and stayed very closed. The dimensions of the pitch made things trickier, although we’ve been working with these dimensions all week, so we knew we’d come up against a very closed-in rival”.

Highest scorer

“I’ve scored 32 goals, but what matters is the work of the team. I’m a competitive player who tries to give the best of myself, which is by scoring goals. However, it has to be recognised that behind every one of my goals there is great teamwork. We’re extremely close, we work well together and all row in the same direction, which is conveyed on the pitch. When we all step out there focused on the same goal of winning the league, victories become more straightforward”.

Final stretch of the season

There are still many matches remaining, difficult games. At home we need to win everything, that’s indisputable, but the pending away games can complicate the final part of the league. The most important thing is that we stick together, and after defeating a difficult rival we’ve gained confidence. We cannot allow ourselves to lose matches and must keep moving forward. We can’t throw away all the hard work we’ve done, every match is a final. I trust in the work we do each week”.
