Adrián: "These matches mark your character and your career”

A few words from the Blue and White captain following the #MálagaAlcorcón win, securing the Malaguista squad’s survival in LaLiga SmartBank for another season.

Survival secured

“It’s not the end to the season we would have liked, but given the circumstances of how the year has gone, the players made a great effort to try to do their best all season. We knew we’d reach the penultimate match without having secured our place in the division and how winning the three points would be crucial”.

Team

“The team is great. From those who have started, those who came on later, the people in the stands pushing us on. It shows how this team has been this season. I think everyone’s seen, we haven’t made any excuses, despite the circumstances we all know about. We would have liked to have been higher up the table at the end of the season, but we had to fight for this so hopefully we’ll all have a better future”.

Match that marks a before and after

“We had a match, especially for the young players, where you become a footballer. These matches mark your character and your career. There are lads like Juande who have had few games with us, and we’ve seen how he’s performed, how he’s coped with the pressure, and as such, the other homegrown players joined us. This is also important. Seeing the homegrown players will have opportunities they want to make the most of, coupled with that necessary hunger that will be great for the Club”.

Dedication

“The suffering of the entire family, the people who work with us on a daily basis, the staff at the Club who are having a hard time at the moment, with many losing their jobs. We’re trying to honour their hard work and effort with our performance on the pitch and by securing our survival in the category”.
