Málaga CF made the stadium a fortress to seal the team’s place in LaLiga SmartBank for the 2020-21 season. Out of the Blue and Whites’ 11 victories this season, eight have taken place at La Rosaleda, with the win against AD Alcorcón the most significant of the year.
The elegance of Juanpi
The Venezuelan attacking midfielder opened the scoring in 22’ and paved the way to victory. Juanpi shook off the rival defence and outwitted the Alcorcón keeper with a sublime shot. The few people in the stands jumped for joy at the first goal of the season for the number ’16.
Another goal for Tete Morente
Tete Morente’s career with the Blue and Whites has grown exponentially, and he’s enjoyed an excellent second round. The versatile winger scored the goal to seal the victory, his second goal as a Malaguista.
Clean sheet
Munir speaks again in the form of saves. The Blue and White defence stands out for its excellence, with the Melilla-born keeper at the helm, accumulating a total of 29 successful saves. His solvency in goal makes Málaga, with one match remaining in LaLiga SmartBank, the team to concede the fewest goals in the silver division, totalling 33.
