Twelve of the thirteen male teams in the MCF Academy are at the top of the table in their regular league championships.
Atlético Malagueño (1st, 71 points)
Ruano’s boys lead Third Division Group IX with 71 points after 30 matches (89 goals scored, an average of nearly 3 per game). They have a 14-point advantage over their main followers (UD Almería ‘B’ and Antequera CF) and should they end the season as league champions, they will have the option for Second Division B promotion by surpassing just one two-leg tie.
Juvenil División de Honor (1st, 66 points)
Dely Valdés’ team leads Group IV of the División de Honor juvenil. Málaga CF has earned 66 points in 30 matches, the same as Sevilla FC. The Blue and Whites have a higher goal average, thanks to the 0-6 win against the Sevilla-based rival in the first round. Betis, in 3rd place with 65 points, remain in contention. The champions will qualify for the national Copa de Campeones, a title won by the Academy team. The best second-placed team from all groups will also qualify to the final competition.
Juvenil Liga Nacional (1st, 59 points)
The team coached by Álex Acejo has 59 points from 26 matches played in Group XIII in the Liga Nacional juvenil (+1 more than CD 26 De Febrero, in second place). The Blue and Whites are the ‘B’ team of the category in the Malaguista youth ranks, so cannot ascend to the División de Honor.
Cadete División de Honor (1st, 53 points)
Luis Bueno’s team leads the table with 53 points, one more than Real Betis and two more than Sevilla FC. The only group in the División de Honor Cadete is a format being debuted this season, so MCF could become the first regional champions within this configuration.
Infantil 1st Andaluza (1st, 62 points)
Málaga have 62 points from 23 matches played in Group II of the 1st División Andaluza infantil. Álex Ortiz’s team have a 9-point cushion above UD Almería, and if they end in first or second place, they will compete in the Andalusian Club Championships. To win the title, they must cross, in the final four, the first two teams from Group I, which encompass the clubs from western Andalucía.
Infantil 2nd Andaluza (1st, 55 points)
The Blue and Whites, led by Adrián Rojas, are the Málaga leaders of 2nd Andaluza Infantil, with 55 points in 23 games (+2 above Antequera CF). The team is from the 2004 generation, and sometimes competes with squads made up of older players. Being the ‘B’ side of the category, they cannot move up to 1st Andaluza.
Alevín 2nd Andaluza (1st, 69 points)
Isaac Jiménez’s boys are the oldest of the 7-a-side teams, and lead the 2nd Andaluza alevín in Málaga with 69 points from 24 matches. With a 3-point advantage over Puerto Malagueño (2nd), the Blue and Whites will qualify for the Andalusian Club Championships if they end the season as champions or runners-up.
Alevín ‘A’ and ‘B’ 3rd Andaluza (1st, 58 points and 1st, 61 points)
The squad, divided into two to compete in Groups I and II of the 3rd Andaluza Alevín in Málaga, are in the top spots of both groups. The ‘A’ team has 58 points out of 21 matches (+11 above AD Malaka) and the ‘B’ team has accumulated 61 points in the same matches (+2 over Estepona FB). Daniel Pérez, Fernando Priego and Alberto Domínguez head up the Blue and Whites’ players.
Benjamín 2nd Andaluza (1st, 72 points)
Christian Galiana leads the team in first place in the table with 72 points out of 24 matches. The Malaguistas head up 2nd División Andaluza benjamín and like the 2nd Alevín, can opt to compete in the Andalusian Club Championships if they end in first or second place in the league.
Benjamín ‘A’ and ‘B’ 3rd Andaluza (3rd, 52 points and 1st, 59 points)
