Martín Demichelis’ first training session was full of familiar faces, as he returns to a dressing room he knows very well. Teammates such as Kameni, Duda and Camacho didn’t leave his side in training, during which he couldn’t stop smiling.
Accompanied by another former colleague, Francesc Arnau, and escorted by Club advisers; Francisco Martín Aguilar, Abdullah Ben Barek and Antonio Benítez, he was presented to the media and put on the Blue and Whites’ shirt again.
Demichelis returns to a Club that left a mark, as he affirmed in the press conference: “From a sporting aspect, I enjoyed two and a half super intense and unforgettable years. It was a wonderful group. In a way, we are all very much identified with that era”.
Within this “wonderful group” was Weligton, with whom he shared the defence in the Champions, and from whom he inherits the number ‘3’. “It’s a great honour for me to wear the number of a player who means so much to this institution”, he commented to the press.
