Press conference
Yáñez: “It’s still possible, we’re not going to give up”

The Málaga CF goalkeeper also appeared in the press room after the clash with Real Racing Club. “The only thing to think about now is the next game and what can be achieved,” he remarked.

Blue and White goalkeeper, Rubén Yañez held a press conference after #MálagaRacing on LaLiga SmartBank matchday 30.

Firstly, he recognised that “this is a season that nobody expected and a difficult situation,” whilst he is confident that the team can achieve salvation: “It’s still possible, as long as we can, we will continue.”

Subsequently, he gave his assessment of the match: “We saw two games today, the first half had nothing to do with the second. After the fortuitous expulsion, we had to continue, and they made the most of the opportunity they had.”

Looking to the future, Yáñez acknowledged that “the situation requires a victory as soon as possible,” adding that “we’re aware that we have very complicated matches. In football anything that happen, we’re going to believe in getting a victory in Las Palmas. We’re all upset. We have to focus on Las Palmas, we’re never going to give up.”

Despite the difficulties at this time, for the Malaguista goalkeeper “it’s possible to get out of here. We are doing things well, and we only have to think about the next game, and believe that we can do it,” he added.

Yáñez commented that “an incredible effort” is being made. “We are giving our all, trying to do our best, and football is being unfair. We have to focus on turning the situation around,” he said.

Lastly, he talked about the added disadvantage of playing with 10 men: “We are finding ourselves playing matches with a man down and it’s punishing us a lot.”
