Works progressing well on the Sports City

The first phase of the works on the future Málaga CF Academy, located in the Arraijanal area, is expected to conclude in October, featuring three natural grass pitches.

The rate of progress in the construction, carried out by Hermanos Campano SL, has really come on in recent months. To date, approximately 65% of the works planned for the first phase have been completed and are scheduled to be finalised around October.

The main objective of the project is to finish the three natural grass pitches designed for 11-a-side football, with the same dimensions (105x68 metres) as La Rosaleda Stadium’s main pitch.

Of the three, two pitches are next to each other on a plot prepared for the first team. The other, intended for competition, will feature a grandstand with a capacity for 1,300 spectators.

In relation to the works involving placing a layer of topsoil and the seeding of the grass, progress is going ahead as planned on all pitches. At the end of this month or the beginning of May, this important action will have been completed.

In addition, the building that includes an administrative area with offices, as well as a press room and a cafeteria is in a very advanced state of construction. The facilities have two changing rooms for competitions, and another four for teams from the Malaguista youth ranks.

Likewise, a large parking area is being developed that will have 300 car parking spaces.

Málaga CF’s Sports City, a reality in the making that is taking firm steps towards building the future of our Club.
