Women’s team make Málaga a fortress (4-0)

María Ruiz, Adriana and Arantxa scored the Blue and White goals in another home win, in which there were numerous Malagueñas in action, and reserve team players Ornella, Marina and Judith Ledesma made their debut.

The most Malagueño starting-11 to date in a first half the girls dominated from start to finish. In 10’, Adriana generated the first attempt, but her shot grazed the post of Curbelo’s goal. The Farfán-Encarni combination gave Málaga the option to make dangerous approaches to the rival area. Encarni could have opened the scoring in minute 20, but the reception of the ball placed by Arantxa wasn’t successful. The Malaguistas maintained ball possession for 45 minutes, whilst Tacuense tried to overcome Noelia with a free kick from Aroa that hit the crossbar. With no time for more, and despite the locals being in charge of play, the scoreboard remained at 0-0 at half-time.

Málaga stepped up the attack in the second half. Cintia came on in place of Farfán in 45’ and her entry onto the pitch shook the match up. After five minutes of play, the right-back assisted María Ruiz and the player from Almáchar scored the 1-0 with a precise shot at the target. The Blue and Whites, comfortable on the field of play, dominated the rival area with ease, and in 53’ the second goal arrived. Arantxa hooked the ball and launched it at the goal, but her shot was rejected. However, an attentive Adriana claimed possession and slammed the ball into the back of the net to take the girls to a 2-0 lead. In 58’, it was Arantxa who netted the 3-0 with a super strong shot from the right of the area.

Whilst the locals were in the lead, coach José Herrera made some changes. Ornella’s debut in the starting line-up was joined by Judith Ledesma, who came on in 60’ to replace the young Spain international. Five minutes later, Marina Gálvez substituted Clo and was the third player to make her debut today, making an almost entirely Malagueño squad. Around minute 80, Cintia gave Arantxa an exemplary pass and the ‘16’ didn’t hesitate to score the 4-0. Although Cintia had the option to score the fifth, her shot grazed the post and the referee blew the final whistle.

The final 4-0 result is the biggest win for Málaga CF Femenino so far this season.
