The Blue and White coach talked about the role of the MCF Academy, widely represented in the match against UD Tacuense: “All the players who went out there today showed that we have top-level homegrown teams”, he affirmed.
Analysis of the victory
“I’m happy as those of us within this world need facts to have more conviction at work. Today we scored four goals, but I continue to insist that our team has always generated goal opportunities from matchday 1. Today we could have had even more good luck in front of goal. Tacuense did a very serious job for much of play, until we understood they became somewhat disorganised then we became more incisive”.

“I’m trying to ensure that my actions speak for me. I came here with a clear philosophy. It’s difficult in modern football to carry out your convictions, but every coach or coaching team is recognised for something. I’ve always said that I have 40 players, not 20: I have 20 in the first team and 20 in the second. And I believe the facts speak for themselves. All the players who went out there today showed that we have top-level homegrown teams. However, we also need to prove this in more disputed games, with a much tighter result so we can detect just how far our Academy can go. I’m delighted for the players who made their debut today”.

“We work a week in advance. We know what to do against our next rival and now need to convey this in training. Today’s approach worked out well, but it’s got no bearing on next week. Yes, it’s true that today’s three points were essential. I asked my team to go out there and be responsible, and they did that against a very serious Tacuense.
