“We say it week after week, but what makes the difference is the goal. When they wish us luck, I don’t ask for luck I ask for accuracy. The players always compete in every game and our hard work allows us to generate opportunities against our rivals. The team has character and creates chances, but without goals there are no victories. These and other difficulties are what we need to face to compete, and the team is competing. The message to the dressing room is the lads must keep their heads held high as they always give their all. I thank the players for their effort, it’s frustrating when the fans come from Málaga to see us and we can’t give them a win; it’s a pity but it wasn’t to be today. However, the fans understand the effort made and recognise this within the players”.
Striker and effectiveness
“Justice is marked by effectiveness, and this is found in both defence and attack. This is the justice of football, to score goals you need to create opportunities, but our chances aren’t materialising as we don’t have specialist strikers, only Armando (Sadiku). It’s a handicap, we’re not making excuses, and are working hard to overcome this adversity. That will be the spirit of the team throughout the season”.
Competitiveness
“The league table that matters is at the end of the season. The team has competitive ability, in regard to both defence and attack, and competes against all rivals. If today we had won it wouldn’t have been a surprise, nor would accumulating a run of positive results”.
Debut of Gonzalo
“We’re delighted with the work of the reserve team boys, despite the limits of the regulations. Gonzalo made his debut, he played a very complete match, in difficult circumstances, and he was very secure in goal. We’re very happy with Gonzalo and Kellyan, and the return of Luis Muñoz is also very important”.
Escobedo, Cup rival
“When the match is here, we’ll have more information. We’ll talk nearer the time, now we’re not focusing on the Cup, we’re concentrating on competing in the League”.
