(Situation surrounding the Club) "We’ve had meetings between the players, and once again we continue to have complete faith in the Club. We know about the various difficulties and the attempts to resolve them. We’re at the point of selling a player, and this money could solve part of the big problem we have at the moment. The players are completely focused on working hard; the League starts in a matter of days, and then the Champions play-off. However we are a little apprehensive about the situation. We’ve been talking about our rivals for the Champions League play-off, the ongoing support from the fans, amongst other things. Despite the difficulties, I’m sure solutions to these problems will be found, we’ll always have the fans supporting us, and we need to continue working as hard as we can. The team, and myself as one of the veterans in the locker room, are trying to keep everyone motivated through these tough times.”
(Hope) "If I said we’re all at 100 per cent, I’d be lying. It’s impossible not to think about the situation surrounding the Club. Children who play football with my son have been asking me what’s going on, as they’re very upset, wondering if the team will be relegated to Second B Division. The fans and the city are nervous and concerned about what will happen. The players are trying to find solutions to solve the problems.”
(Italy-Greece tour) "We’ve got some great matches coming up on this tour, against teams of a higher level than us. It’s good to be able to play these matches ahead of the start of the season in a couple of weeks, as the sooner we’re back on form, the better.”
(Contact with the Club) "We had meetings yesterday and today, and we hope to be informed of what’s going on as soon as possible, as there’s not much time left. As soon as everything is resolved the better, then we can concentrate solely on playing football.”
(Difficulties) "I’ve played for Clubs before who were going through tough times. It’s a difficult situation, as after the big signings and presentations, we’re now still awaiting new players and more surprises. We don’t know why everything suddenly stopped, but it’s still a much better situation than when I arrived. We’ve got some fantastic international players on the team, and amazing fans that have been supporting us unconditionally. If players need to be sold in order to rectify the situation then I’m sure the Club will come to the right decision.”
(Players leaving the team) "This doesn’t concern me, but I believe the Club needs to take action, and if this means selling a player, then so be it, as we can’t carry on like this. We’ll continue with the players we have, or include the reserve players more.”
(Worry) "Right now we’re focusing on our possible opponents in the Champions League play-off, and the first League match. We’ve had several meetings regarding the difficulties, which has taken our concentration off the game slightly. It’s impossible not to notice how worried the coach is, as well as all the players, we’re all waiting to hear what’s going on. Over the next few days we’ll have more information, and hopefully the problems will be resolved as soon as possible.”
