Málaga CF returned to training, in compliance with the protocol set by LaLiga, in three groups of 10 players throughout this Tuesday morning.
A great deal of joy and also precaution this morning, Tuesday 19th May, at the Malaguista facilities at La Rosaleda. Today was marked on the calendar as the day the Blue and Whites would begin group training within phase 3, and that’s what happened.
The day got off to an early start at Martiricos. From 08:30 the first 10 players called-up for this first training session started to arrive at the stadium. In total, three groups of 10 players chosen by Sergio Pellicer exercised jointly on the main pitch at La Rosaleda and the Annexe.
In accordance with LaLiga regulations, and following Order SND/399/2020, the team underwent tactical training and work with the ball in small groups. Thereby getting closer to normality for a football team.
The Blue and White coaching team was also present for this first training session.
The second group arrived more than an hour after the first, kicking off training at 10:00. The last training session got underway at 11:30, completing the list of all players.
As highlighted by homegrown player Luis Muñoz on Monday, the team was looking forward to training together, working with the ball and enjoying training as a team.
Málaga CF will continue training tomorrow, Wednesday, again following all phase 3 protocol.
Statements to MCFTV
Renato Santos
“We couldn’t wait to get started, even though we’re not all together, but it’s a start. Training with the ball and doing more things related to playing matches was great”.
Gonzalo
“I started with the goalkeeping coach to undergo individual training and then joined the team. We focused on attacking tactics, pressure and then played a mini-match”.
Cifu
“From zero to 100. On the first day I moved to group training, so I didn’t really notice the change from individual training from the first week and not being able to have contact with the others. I’m very happy and eager for more”.
