“The coach said it all. We’ve worked together as coaches for many years, we have a great friendship, aside from our professional relationship, and I am at the disposal of the coach’s decisions. Being a man of the house, there’s no other reason than a personal one for this cycle coming to an end. It’s difficult due to the Club giving me the opportunity to be a coach, especially coming from Marbella. It’s a pity, but the Club is in good hands”.
Compete and win
“We’re ready to finish the season in the best way possible. These players want to win, continue competing and clinch victory at La Rosaleda. We face tomorrow’s match determined to win the three points, the Club deserves it, as do the fans and this group of players. Bidding farewell with three points and a good dynamic is great for everyone. What has been achieved is the result of hard work, perseverance and sacrifice”.
Grateful
“We’ve been together for many years and always go hand in hand in any project. Being so young, I owe a lot to those who have given me the chance to continue growing. We’re delighted with how everything went, it’s a professional matter that allows us to grow together. The group understands, we can only say thank you for the past year and a half, not only to this group, but also the previous one, who gave their all for such a great performance that provided the Club with the stability to continue advancing”.
Next match and a difficult decision
“Girona have been doing things very well, Francisco has found that 3-5-2 formation which has hit the mark. They’ve been in a good dynamic which has kept the playoffs dream alive; a very physical team that competes very well, both in associative play and generating good transitions. He’s repeating the 11, a quality line-up, but we’ll try and make things very tough for the rival (…) A difficult decision for him and for me, I’m sticking with him through the good and bad times. He was suffering, knowing it was such a difficult decision. He had a lot to think about, weigh up the pros and cons; I could have said no, but it’s about the good of the Club, and we face these last remaining games looking for three points and a good finish”.
Luis Muñoz
“Luis still has injury discomfort, and it will be hard for him to be fit for Girona. Hopefully he’ll recover as soon as possible. We’re reaching the limit, we’re a very limited squad and have been squeezed to the max. However, in the face of physical problems or any adversity, we’ll try to defeat Girona”.
Future
“We are totally focused on our work here. We deserve to finish the season by winning the three points against Girona, Leganés and Castellón. And we must respect the profession and the joint decision. It’s about having peace of mind and concentrating on what’s important, on leaving the Club as high up the table as possible for everyone”.
