Málaga CF coach, José Alberto López analysed the team in today’s pre-match press conference before #RealOviedoMálaga, corresponding to matchday 13 of LaLiga SmartBank.
His first thought was about the upcoming rival, Real Oviedo: “They have only lost one game at Carlos Tartiere and two in the 12 games up to now. They’re very competitive, concede few goals and arrive at the goal with ease.” The Malaguista coach expects “a hard-fought game” against a team that “is going to demand us to be very good in both areas and very forceful if we want to win the match.”
When asked about the team’s improvement away from home, but without the reward of a win, the Malaguista coach said: “We haven’t won, yet we deserved to.” Málaga CF have scored points in five consecutive matches, which José Alberto refers to as: “We have to maintain the positive dynamic as much as we can. We need to make the most of the dynamics in the season, and now the team is doing very well.”
The Blue and White coach adds “in the last few matches we’ve taken a step forward away from home and are being far more solid, with more consistency and we’re not making mistakes. This is the line we have to follow. This is a match to allow us to keep growing, take a step forward and win three points.”
Lastly, the coach talks about returning to his homeland of Asturias: “Of course it’s special. I started training at Astur, which shares a car park with the Carlos Tartiere. It's special to go back there and to remember your beginnings as a coach, besides that I was also a player.”
