Victory for Atlético Malagueño in Los Molinos (0-2)

The Blue and Whites’ reserve team won their 32nd match of the season in Los Molinos. Goals from Rufo and Pablo Fornals in the first half were sufficient to clinch victory and remain in play off positions for Second Division B promotion.

Atlético Malagueño got off to a very intense start, and 15 minutes in took a 0-1 lead with a goal from Rufo, as he made the most of a weak deflection from the rival defence.  A second goal could have been on the cards almost instantly, should the referee have awarded a possible penalty after Mauri was grabbed inside the area.

Fifteen minutes later, in minute 32, Pablo Fornals scored the Blue and Whites’ second goal.  Poor clearance from the goalkeeper allowed the ‘Malaguista’ to gain possession and send the ball to the back of the net.

This is an important win for Atlético Malagueño, as they have claimed points out of their last six games, this time another three to remain in the fight for play off positions for promotion to Second Division B.  The reserve team has a weekend off next week, as the 32nd match of the season was brought forward.  Their next game is against Los Villares on 12th April at the ‘Federación Malagueña’ ground.
