Local victory at El Plantío (2-1)

Málaga CF suffered defeat away to Burgos CF on matchday 7 of LaLiga HYPERMOTION. Dani Lorenzo scored for the Malaguistas.

Málaga CF and Burgos CF faced off on matchday 7 of LaLiga HYPERMOTION at El Plantío. Around a hundred Málaga fans accompanied the team in the stands. On the pitch, Pellicer made some changes and lined up the following starting-11: Alfonso Herrero; Murillo, Einar, Montero, Dani Sánchez; D. Larrubia, Juanpe, Dani Lorenzo, Lobete; Rafa R. and Chupe.

The Blue and Whites started the match strongly and made the most of their first chance to take the lead. Dani Lorenzo combined with Lobete at the edge of the area and, after a one-two, got past the Burgos defender with a clever move and finished confidently to the far post. Málaga CF took the lead at El Plantío in the 10th minute (0-1).

Burgos CF found the equaliser from a set-piece. D. González delivered the ball into the box, and Appin finished to make it 1-1 on the scoreboard (28’).

With the score tied at 1-1 at El Plantío, the first half came to an end. After the break, Málaga CF made a single change: Gabilondo came on to replace Dani Sánchez. The Málaga number 2 took up the right-back position, while Murillo moved to the left flank.

Sergio Pellicer’s side started the second half strongly. Lobete found Rafa R. inside the box, and he unleashed a dangerous shot that went just wide (49’).

Dotor came on to replace Lobete (60’), and Jauregi along with Dorrio O., making his Málaga debut, replaced Chupe and Rafa R. (70’).

Despite Málaga’s improved play, Burgos CF took advantage of a rare chance to take the lead. The local scorer was Miguel in the 76th minute.

In the 80th minute, an important moment for Haitam. The Moroccan winger returned to action after his serious injury, coming on as a substitute for Juanpe.

The rest of the match was played in Burgos CF’s half, with Málaga CF pushing for an equaliser until the end, creating several corner and throw-in opportunities into the box.

In the 92nd minute, Einar received his second yellow card, leaving the team with 10 men in the final moments.

Despite their push until the very last moment, the score didn’t change, and Burgos CF secured the victory.

Málaga’s next match will be on Sunday 5th October at 18:30 against Real Racing Club at El Sardinero.
