Hospital Quirónsalud Málaga and Málaga Club de Fútbol have signed a collaboration agreement through which the hospital becomes the Club’s Official Medical Provider. Thanks to this agreement, Quirónsalud Málaga will oversee the health of the first-team players, both men’s and women’s squads, as well as Atlético Malagueño and Juvenil A, providing comprehensive medical care, specialised monitoring, and the most advanced resources for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of potential injuries.
The Hospital provides the Málaga team with a comprehensive range of services and a team of leading professionals, headed by Dr. César Ramírez, who becomes Quirónsalud’s coordinator for Málaga CF under this agreement. The first line of the medical structure for Málaga CF is completed by the teams in Cardiology, led by Dr. Enrique Puche; Radiology, represented by Drs. Carlos Alonso and Ernesto Rivera; and Traumatology, with Dr. Antonio Leiva. All of them were present at the signing ceremony of the collaboration agreement, which took place on Tuesday 30th September at La Rosaleda Stadium, led by Tomás Urda, Managing Director of Quirónsalud Málaga Hospital, and José María Muñoz, the Club’s judicial administrator, accompanied by Kike Pérez, Málaga CF’s general manager.
The agreement also includes the implementation of joint actions for health promotion and prevention, aimed at encouraging sports participation and healthy lifestyle habits among the general public, and particularly among football fans and supporters of the Málaga team. As noted by Dr. Tomás Urda, Managing Director of Hospital Quirónsalud Málaga during the signing ceremony: “This is an important day for both institutions. For us, having hospitals committed to health care, sports, and healthy lifestyles is a priority. To Málaga, we basically offer trust, which comes from our medical services. For us, this is fundamental; treating illness alone is not enough. We live in a society where healthy lifestyles must be considered, and that is one of our main commitments.”
For his part, Kike Pérez, Málaga CF’s general manager, took the opportunity to highlight that “this is a very important day for us. We are very excited about this new agreement with Quirónsalud Málaga as our official medical provider. Having Quirónsalud is a step up in quality for us. Knowing that the entire team is at our disposal gives us great peace of mind and assurance. We are thrilled with this new commitment, which will surely last for many years,” he said.
Lastly, César Ramírez, the new Quirónsalud coordinator for Málaga CF, stated: “This agreement has tremendous professional value for us, because it means that the city’s most important sports club, Málaga Club de Fútbol, trusts Hospital Quirónsalud Málaga and our entire corporate and medical structure to provide the club’s medical services. What we offer is full coverage through our personalised care with our professionals, so that Málaga CF is better protected than ever and to establish a philosophy within the club that no one needs to leave Málaga for treatment, at a sporting level, because we are capable of providing that coverage one hundred percent. All the doctors involved in the project are lifelong Malaguistas, members and season ticket holders, and we do this from both a personal and professional perspective.
