Víctor: “The entire squad is really pumped up”

The Málaga CF coach held a press conference following #MálagaElche where he showed his appreciation for his team’s superb performance. “We want to thank them for how they train and how hard they work”, he said.

Pumped up team

“I want to thank the players. We understand we have the best team in the competition, and we want to thank them for how they train and how hard they work. The entire squad is really pumped up; players with few minutes stood their ground and played well in a match that was difficult as we didn’t want to rely on others. In addition, we were up against Elche, a team that proposes a lot of play and created chances”.

Miguel Torres

“In regard to Miguel Torres, I was angry that some fans were whistling at him. Whether it’s him, or any other player, if a footballer on the team is criticised, it’s down to ignorance. They are all great professionals. Miguel suffered a blow to the ribs this week, yet entered the line-up knowing the team needed him, even though he could barely breathe for days. He’s a great professional”.

Promotion play-offs

“Any rival will be tough. Obviously, those at the top have reached this point in the best way. In order to go up we’ll need to beat everyone. We believed in direct promotion, but Granada didn’t fail, and we didn’t manage to win every game. We have the same idea, beating any rival we come up against, always with great respect, starting with the tie against Dépor”.

Confidence

“We’re not going to label anyone as favourites. We are just focusing on playing football. Nothing will affect us in a negative way. Quite the opposite. We’re gaining more confidence in what we do and work hard to improve each day”.
