The Blue and Whites arrived at the Polideportivo Municipal Juan de la Cierva with the following starting-11: Amor Leigh; Lorena Herrera, Jeni, Yoli Peche, M. Farfán; Noemi, Andrea Ríos; Elena, Andrea Herrero, Alicia; Futu. In the final stretch of the second half, Marina Tomás, Yessenia, and Encarni also saw action. Alba Navarro, a recent winter signing, remained on the bench.
Héctor Díaz’s side took an early lead on the scoreboard. Alicia, continuing her goal-scoring run, put MCFF ahead with her 10th league goal of the season (0-1, 12’).
At the midpoint of the first half, the Getafe players levelled the score with a goal from Beatriz Mosquera (1-1, 24’). Before half-time, Andrea Herrero put the Malaguistas back in front (1-2, 41’).
Just like in the first half, Getafe struck again, this time twice, partially overturning the match with goals from Bruna Nataly (2-2, 64’) and Merel (3-2, 65’). Then in the dying minutes of the game, Elena equalised to secure a hard-fought point for Málaga (3-3, 80’).
After seven consecutive victories, Málaga secured a valuable point, bringing them even closer to second place in the table, held by CD Sporting Club, who fell 0-1 at home against Granada CF’s reserve team.
The Malaguistas remain third in the standings with 29 points, just one behind Huelva (30). There will be no competition next weekend, and in the following round, Málaga and Sporting will face each other at the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF.
