Two goals from Granada prevent a home win for Femenino (0-2)
Málaga CF Femenino couldn’t come back from being two goals down, scored by the Red and Whites in the first half, the work of Alicia and Urre in 17' and 36' respectively.
Málaga CF Femenino suffered a 0-2 defeat by Granada CF Femenino. The team in second place of Liga Reto Iberdrola Grupo Sur dominated the first half with their superiority, scoring two goals that gave them the three points.
The rival was more accurate upfront during the initial minutes of play. Noelia Gil saved Granada’s first attempt in minute 11, however, in 17’, a shot from Alicia found the back of the net and the Red and Whites took a 0-1 lead. Málaga tried to surprise the Granada keeper, without success. In 30’ the referee disallowed a goal by Alicia Redondo for being offside, avoiding a bigger lead for the visitors on the scoreboard.
In the 36th minute, Urre dribbled past the Blue and White defence and her shot at the target, lightly touched by Noelia, went into the goal, putting Granada 0-2 up at half-time.
With the second half in play, Adriana attempted to get the attention of goalkeeper, María, whilst Farfán’s shot at goal came up against the rival defence. Málaga weren’t successful in front of goal, while Granada barely visited the Blue and White area in the second half.
Blue and White coach, José Herrera made some changes, granting minutes to Cintia, María Ruiz and reserve team player Futu, the latter joining play in 78’. Futu’s entrance brought more verticality to the game and in minute 84 the team had a clear shot at goal, but the attempt was blocked by a toe-save from the keeper. There was no time for more and at full-time, the result was 0-2.
