Thursday’s training session in the Ciudad de Málaga stadium

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s first team underwent a training session this Thursday morning, in the Ciudad de Málaga stadium, with a full turn out of physically fit players for coach Manuel Pellegrini.

Starting with the usual stretching exercises, the team was then divided into three groups for goal shooting practice.

Argentinean goalkeeper Willy Caballero remained in the gym, along with French midfielder Jéremy Toulalan, who has recently returned from France where he had his plaster cast removed.  Joaquín, Van Nistelrooy and Weligton had a less intense session, whilst goalkeeping coach, Xabi Mancisidor, worked alongside Kameni, Rubén and Atlético Malagueño’s Pol.

Dutch central defender, Joris Mathijsen, suffered a strained left quadriceps injury during the training session, and is awaiting test results.

Málaga’s first team returns to training tomorrow, Friday 20th April, in La Rosaleda.  The Blue and Whites are continuing preparations ahead of their 35th BBVA League match against Club Atlético Osasuna, next Monday 23rd April, in the Reyno de Navarra stadium, at 9pm.
