Three golden points at the Anxo Carro (0-2)

Málaga CF defeated CD Lugo in Galicia in front of more than 500 Malaguista fans. Rubén Castro and Fran Villalba scored for the Blue and Whites.

Málaga CF visited the Anxo Carro surrounded by more than 500 Blue and White fans, who departed yesterday on seven buses from La Rosaleda. Pellicer kept the same starting line-up following the two consecutive victories: Rubén Yáñez; Delmás, Escassi, Burgos, Juande, Cristian; Ramon, Febas, Fran Villalba; Ruben Castro and Chavarria.

The team came out with clear ideas, cheered on by the dedicated fans. However, there were no significant approaches at the start of play.

Málaga opened the scoring half an hour into the game. In the 32nd minute, Chavarría served up a magnificent ball for Rubén Castro to make it 0-1 with a great header.

The joy multiplied two minutes later, in 34'. Rubén Castro found Fran Villalba and the Blue and White number '21' didn’t miss the second goal. With a powerful and well-placed shot, he made it 0-2 at the Anxo Carro.

The negative note of the first half featured Ramón. The midfielder sustained injury in 42' and was replaced by Jozabed.

At the start of the second half, there were no changes and Pellicer stuck to the plan. The team had chances to widen their lead on the scoreboard, but they didn’t materialise.

In 75', Álex Gallar and Genaro came on for goal scorers Fran Villalba and Rubén Castro. Six minutes later, Pellicer closed the substitution window by bringing on Fran Sol and Álex Calvo for Chavarría and Febas.

Málaga held on to their lead until the final whistle and sealed an important victory. Next Monday the 1st, the team will return to La Rosaleda to face SD Huesca, where a great crowd is expected once again as the fans will be crucial in the search for the fourth win on the bounce.
