This is our… 3rd Benjamín

The Malaguista squad is divided into two teams, competing in groups 1 and 2 of the 3rd Andaluza Division. On 8th January, they were proclaimed champions of the prestigious ‘Villa de Toledo’ Tournament.

The first year Benjamín squad in MCF’s Academy competes in groups 1 and 2 of the 3rd Andaluza Division in its category, along with various other second-year teams. As such, the team is split into two to take part in parallel under the ‘A’ and ‘B’ denominations, coached by Javier Escaño and Xavi González.

The ‘A’ team, is second in the rankings with 40 points, with 91 goals scored and 30 conceded. The Málaga ‘B’ side leads the table with 46 points, 101 goals scored and 17 conceded.

The Blue and Whites’ teams compete as one in the rest of the tournaments. On 8th January, they won the prestigious ‘Villa de Toledo’ trophy, in which they defeated Real Madrid (1-0) in the semi-final and Atlético de Madrid (2-1) in the final.

The Malaguista squad has another second year Benjamín team that participates in the 2nd División Andaluza. This squad competes in the regional cup, as the youngest team cannot take part. “The older Benjamín team is a benchmark for us, it’s an honour to watch them compete”, says Xavi González, the ‘B’ team, coach.
