This is our… 2nd Andaluza Alevín

The eldest of the MCF Academy 7-a-side teams leads the group in the 2ª División Andaluza category. This year they’re competing in various prestigious tournaments.

Málaga CF’s oldest Alevín team bids farewell to 7-a-side football this season, to make the ‘move’ to 11-a-side next year, when the squad becomes the first year ‘infantil’ of the Malaguista youth ranks.

The team, from the 2005 generation, plays locally at Los Prados municipal ground, under the tutorage of Isaac Jiménez and José Castillejo. The Blue and Whites lead the table with 60 points.

The squad has a very full schedule coming up. On the 18th, 19th and 20th March, they are taking part in the ‘X Trofeo de Fallas Ciudad de Burriana’ (Castellón). FC Barcelona, RCD Espanyol, Club Atlético de Madrid, Valencia CF, Sevilla FC and Real Betis Balompié, amongst others, are taking part alongside Málaga CF. In addition, on the 12th, 13th and 14th May, they will be defending their title in the prestigious XXII Arousa 7-a-side tournament (Pontevedra). In the last competition, they defeated RC Celta de Vigo in the semi-finals (2-0) and Ajax from Amsterdam in the grand final (2-1).

That’s not all. Our Alevín team will be competing in the Andalusian Club Championships if they end the regular league in first or second place, and are expected to return to participate in LaLiga Promises.

The first coach explains how the team approaches these competitions: “Naturally, trying to ensure that the players enjoy the experiences as much as possible. As coaches, we also learn a great deal”, says Isaac Jiménez.
