Training
The week kicks off at full pace

The Malaguistas returned to training this Monday morning, in a two-hour session, at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium.

The Málaga CF players started the session with a physical workout inside the stadium, and later stepped on to the pitch to focus on exercises using the ball.

After an hour and a half, the starting players from Saturday’s clash with Real Madrid left the pitch due to the accumulated workload, whilst their teammates continued with the session. In the final part of training, Miguel Torres and Ricca went outside to focus on specific exercises, under the orders of Hugo Camarero.

Five members of the MCF Academy joined this morning’s session; left-winger, Kike Piña; central, Gabri; midfielder, Castillo; striker, Santi; and goalkeeper, Javi Cuenca, completed the squad.

Roberto Rosales underwent preventive work in the gym today, where homegrown players; Kuki Zalazar and Ontiveros – who were in Atlético Malagueño’s starting line-up yesterday against CF Motril – focused on specific exercises separately from the others. For his part, Sandro continued with his recovery from injury.

Africa internationals, Koné and En-Nesyri, who are currently taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations, were absent today, as well as injured Kuzmanovic.

The Malaguista players will return to training tomorrow from 10:30, at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium, to continue preparations for Friday’s match against CA Osasuna.
