On 14th January, Málaga CF announced that this year, door number 13 of the stadium will be named after José Antonio Gallardo, the goalkeeper who sadly passed away on 15th January 1987.
His father, José Gallardo, and his nephew, José Antonio Gómez Gallardo, were invited by the MCF Foundation to visit La Rosaleda’s offices last week, the first contact since the announcement of the tribute.
Club advisers; Francisco Martín Aguilar, Antonio Benítez and Abdullah Ben Barek; member of the MCF Foundation’s Social Department, Sebastián Fernández Reyes, ‘Basti’; and the MCF Foundation’s historian, Domingo Muñoz, met with Gallardo’s family and spent time reminiscing about the goalkeeper.
