The right wing is reinforced with Iván Calero

The new Blue and White player arrives on a free transfer from Club Deportivo Numancia, and has signed his contract with Málaga Club de Fútbol until 2023.

After signing his contract in the Club’s offices at La Rosaleda and passing the relevant medical and tests within the protocol, the player will join the first team in training.

Training in Madrid

Iván Calero Ruiz (Parla, Madrid, 1995), who plays either as a right back or right winger, started out his football training with the two greats in the Spanish capital: Club Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid CF. With the Red and Whites he played in the ‘C’ team and reserve team between 2011 and 2014, during which he was a regular in the Spain youth teams in the U-16, U-17, U-18 and U-19 categories.

England and Holland

Once he departed Atlético de Madrid, Calero travelled abroad and signed to Derby County FC (14/15) who played in the Championship. That same year County loaned him out to League II side, Burton Albion FC, and in 15/16 he returned to The Rams headed up by Phillip Cocu. In the 16/17 campaign, he moved to the Netherlands, playing with Sparta Rotterdam in the Eredivisie and Jong Sparta in the Dutch Tweede Divisie.

Return to Spain

The defender made a successful return to Spain in the 17/18 season, achieving promotion to the Second Division with Elche CF. In the bronze division, in 18/19, he completed a remarkable year – on loan from Elche – with Salamanca UDS playing 34 matches in the starting line-up and scoring seven league goals. Last season, his debut in the Second Division, he played 37 matches (all in the starting-11, 3,141 minutes of play) and scored two goals with CD Numancia, where he arrived from.
