“The gift I’m asking for is permanency, and we’ll fight for it”

The Málaga CF captain attended to the media before the Club’s Christmas lunch: “The team has changed the dynamic. I hope this run continues”.

Physical condition

“I feel good. Today I worked a little on the side-lines because the area is still sore from the contusion. I hope between tomorrow and the next day to re-join the group and have no problems ahead of the match, which is what I want the most, as we’ve got everything to play for on Monday”.

Christmas present

“The only gift I’m asking for is permanency. Everything we’re going to do and fight for this year is to remain in the First Division, which we have the squad for, and both the Club and the city deserves Málaga to be in the elite. I hope we receive this gift in May and the team remains in the First Division”.

Positive dynamic

“For the past two months the team has changed the dynamic. At times the result has gone our way, other times not, but I believe the team has changed. The intensity and our form of playing has altered, and defensively we’ve improved a great deal. This is the basis for the team to score points. In the long run the victories are seen. I hope this run continues and on Monday we’re capable of achieving a good result at home”.

#MálagaRealBetis

“It’s a very important duel, as are all our home games. The mistakes we made at the start of the season we’re going to pay for all year, and every match at our ground will be like a final. We haven’t had the possibility of winning two games on the run, as we’ve had some very tough away fixtures where it’s been very difficult to clinch two wins on the bounce. Now we have the chance, so we must fight for it. We need to be strong at home. We’re all aware this is going to be a crucial match, and that’s how we’re approaching it”.
