“The Federación will be a fortress on Saturday”

Málaga CF Femenino attended the BeSoccer headquarters for the team’s presentation after the newly started season. Coach, José Herrera, and players Adriana Martín, Ana Buceta and Pamela attended to the media to analyse #MálagaUDGTenerifeB.

Learn from the first defeat

José Herrera: “I believe there are many aspects in which we’ve become stronger, we were able to take the lead on the scoreboard first and we tried to implement our model of play away from home against a very difficult rival. The reading is very positive. This Saturday, at home, with our fans, I think we’re capable of claiming the three points. We are only focused on the next three points at stake and then the next three”.

Adriana Martín: “The first match is now over, obviously it wasn’t the result we wanted, but the good thing about defeats is that you soon move on to the next game. The objective; well we’re all aware of what we want and will take each match at a time. That’s our objective in the short-term, we need to achieve our closest aims and then we’ll see at the end if we can achieve what we want to achieve, which if course is for the team to be in the First Division again”.

Ana Buceta: “It wasn’t the beginning we were hoping for, we were going for the three points, but it wasn’t to be. The good thing is the league is very long, it’s only just begun and on Saturday we have another opportunity to win the three points. We’re going match by match, achieving our goals step by step and winning as many three points as we can until we reach the end”.

Pamela: “We know the result wasn’t what we expected, but we all know what we have to improve on and that’s exactly what we’re doing. I believe the results will go our way as we focus on improving and working hard every day in order to achieve positive results”.

Grateful to fans

José Herrera: “On a personal level, and on behalf of all my players, we feel the fans’ support and encouragement. You can tell by the number of followers we have in regard to any statement made or media report about us. We could feel their support in the friendly match against Cádiz in Carlinda during the pre-season… Imagine matchday 2 at home?! The fans will be there en masse. They write to us, support us, and I’m sure that the Federación will be a fortress on Saturday”.

Adriana Martín: “The Málaga fans have shown they’re the best. I’ve always said that we’ve had their support when we needed it the most and we know they’ll never let us down. We can’t wait to play at home, have the fans behind us and we’ll respond to them on the pitch the way they do in the stands”.

Ana Buceta: “This is a team, we need the fans. We are looking forward to seeing them all in the stands on Saturday at 12:00 so they can help us win the three points”.

New signings

José Herrera: “I believe the new incorporations have spoken for themselves based on the opportunities I’ve been able to give them. They’ve integrated into the team very well and in regard to football the matches are there. I hope that as the league progresses they will bring even more to the team than we initially thought, of that I’m sure”.

Next rival, UGD Tenerife ‘B’

José Herrera: “Regardless of the rival we’re up against, we always treat them in the same way. We’re totally focused on correcting aspects of our game in order to improve, in the approach we want to make on Saturday and for sure there’s no sign of confidence on our part”.
