The alevines rub shoulders with some of the best European teams in Italy
The Málaga CF alevínes finished 10th in the IV Solidarity Tournament, held last weekend in Lodi, Italy. The Málaga team experienced a high level of football in this tournament, amongst the best clubs in Europe.
The Blue and Whites drew against Genoa in the group stage (1-1), and were defeated by Torino. They faced the mighty Chelsea in their next game, and achieved their only victory of the competition, by 1-0. In their final match against Manchester United, the Blue and Whites ended the tournament, in which they were alongside some of the best teams within Europe.
Other tournaments Málaga’s alevín teams didn’t stop last weekend. With one squad in Italy, another taking part in the south-east regional phase of the Danone Nations Cup, held in the Teatinos campus of Málaga University, where they were proclaimed champions. Málaga was undefeated after beating Romeral (3-1), San Roque (3-1), winning the semi-final on penalties (4-3, after a 0-0 draw at full time), and achieving a fantastic victory against Malaka in the final by 5-0.
Málaga’s prebenjamín team took part in the Carrasco Football Tournament, held in Rincón de la Victoria. The youngest team within La Academia put on an excellent performance: defeating La Cala (6-0), Mairena de Aljarafe (8-2), Las Lagunas in the final 16 (3-1), but were beaten by Córdoba’s Séneca in the quarter final by 1-2, who went on to win the tournament.
