Important step for Málaga in the match against Barça (3-0)
Málaga CF achieved a significant victory in the semi-final first leg of the Copa del Rey juvenil on Sunday, defeating FC Barcelona by an impressive 3-0.
Málaga were the superior team from the start in the match held in the Malagueña Football Federation ground. The Blue and Whites stopped any attacking initiative from the visitors with a powerful display on the pitch. Pedro showed great ball control, with Samu and Olinga also playing excellent football. Rafa Vicente scored a goal in the 42nd minute to put the locals ahead on the score board at half time, by 1-0.
Málaga continued to dominate the game in the second half, ensuring Barcelona didn’t stand a chance. Jandro scored the second goal for the Blue and Whites in minute 70, and in the 90th minute, captain Álvaro sealed Málaga’s victory with a crucial third goal, ahead of the return leg in Barcelona within a week.
A 3-0 win for Málaga against Barcelona, who had just 10 men as Dngou was sent off for a double yellow.
