Stunning goal from Larrubia in his U-17 World Cup debut

The Blue and White forward played a starring role in Spain’s big win against Tajikistan in the Under-17 World Cup with a beautiful goal.

Unforgettable. This is how David Larrubia’s debut in the U-17 World Cup competition in Brazil can be defined.

The young Malaguista was part of Spain’s 5-1 victory against Tajikistan. Before half-time, Valera’s injury meant David joined play in minute 44. Two minutes later, in stoppage time of the first half, the first ball he touched he sent to the back of the net with a superb left-footed cross to mark the partial 4-1 score. As such, David Larrubia becomes the first Málaga CF player to score for Spain in an Under-17 World Cup.

David Gordo’s team, following a draw in the inaugural match against Argentina (0-0), has four points in Group E of the tournament, and is playing for qualification to the round of 16. The next match for Spain’s Under-17s is taking place on Sunday (21.00 Spanish time, GOL) against Cameroon in Brasilia.
