Emergency drill at La Rosaleda ahead of the match against AD Ceuta FC

Before the last match between Málaga CF and AD Ceuta FC, part of LALIGA HYPERMOTION matchday 21, an emergency drill was carried out at La Rosaleda Stadium.

The main objective was to test the protocols for a hypothetical mass evacuation of fans in the event of a match being suspended. The exercise allowed the organised and coordinated simulation of the actions required to ensure spectators’ safety, evaluating response times, communication among the various teams involved, and the proper implementation of the stadium’s Self-Protection Plan.

The Club’s Security Director, José Cruz, led the drill, starting with a theoretical briefing and then moving to practical exercises. The procedures covered the initial response to an incident, the assessment and care of injured individuals, the transfer of the injured according to severity, and, as a result of the incident, the evacuation of the stadium in accordance with the procedures established in the Self-Protection Plan.

The drill involved the National Police Security Coordinator, the top official in charge of the security operation, as well as external companies and security personnel contracted for match days at La Rosaleda, the Local Police, the Red Cross, Málaga Civil Protection, and the heads of the various departments and areas of Málaga CF.

The exercise is part of Málaga CF’s and LALIGA’s commitment to fan safety and wellbeing, underscoring continuous training, prevention, and the ongoing improvement of emergency protocols for high-attendance events.

The effective coordination demonstrated during the drill reinforces the operational capacity of all involved organisations and helps ensure that La Rosaleda Stadium remains a safe venue for sporting competitions.
