Sergio Sánchez: “We’re thinking about our closest objectives and getting the three points at home against Villareal.”

The Malaguista player, Sergio Sánchez, spoke to the media in the Ciudad de Málaga press room minutes after starting the Blue and Whites’ penultimate training session of the week.

Sergio Sánchez’s statements:

(Versatility). “Yes being versatile is good as it means they can count on me to fulfil various positions, in that respect I like to be versatile.  The boss knows that and I hope to have continuity to gain momentum in the match and that he uses me for the position he believes is best.”

“Nobody likes to play because another player is injured, but we’re a team of 25 players and this time it could be me.”

(Villarreal).  “Their past shows that they’re a direct rival, even though they’re not getting the results.  They have quality and dynamism and they’re not going to make it easy for us despite the injuries they have.”

(Play).  “It’s good that the fans see there’s room for improvement, conformity is bad and the team’s continuity with its phase of building rapport and stability.”

(BBVA League competition). “The Spanish league is one of the most competitive and toughest.  It’s hard to get into these positions and now it’s our job to maintain them.  We think, week after week, about our closest objectives and getting the three points at home in Málaga against Villareal.”
