Málaga CF Femenino opened the 2026 competitive calendar this Saturday with matchday 14 of Group 3 in the Segunda Federación, facing CF Unión Viera in a match played at 20:00 at the CD Fundación MCF.
The Málaga coach opted for a starting-11 made up of Amor Leigh, Jeni L., C. Aguilar, Yoli Peche, M. Farfán (C), Andrea Ríos, Noemí, Elena, Andrea Herr., Alicia, and Futu.
The match got off to an early blow for the Malaguistas, who conceded the 0-1 in the 6th minute after a goal by Manuela.
The Blue and Whites reacted as the minutes went by and began to create danger. In the 20th minute, Futu had the first chance for the hosts with an effort that was saved by Sheila. Three minutes later, Alicia came close to equalising after a good first touch and a shot that went over the crossbar, and in minute 31, Futu again came up against the rival goalkeeper, who denied the goal on the line after a close-range effort.
The equaliser came in the 33rd minute, with a direct free kick from María Farfán, whose angled strike was unstoppable.
The first half ended with the dismissal of Sheila in the 44th minute, after she handled the ball outside the area to stop a one-on-one against Futu. From the resulting free kick, Andrea Ríos’ effort was saved by Claudia, who had just come on.
After the break, Héctor Díaz’s side took control of the match with high pressing and a clear attacking intent. In minute 47, Andrea Ríos warned with a header that skimmed the post.
The home side’s pressure paid off in the 55th minute, when Jeni L. finished a set-piece move from a corner kick to put the Blue and Whites ahead. Then, in the 87th minute, Alicia put the finishing touch with the third goal, sealing the first home win of 2026 and the team’s seventh consecutive victory of the season.
